The present invention relates to a bolt (1) used in a bolt-welding method. The bolt includes a surface which is to be welded at least partially to a support (13), mainly sheet metal, and which comprises a peripheral welding bead (11). This invention also relates to a method for welding such a bolt with a support mainly consisting of sheet metal. To this end, a rotating electric arc is generated between the support and the peripheral welding bead. The surfaces of the support and the bead thus assembled by fusion in this area define a sealed peripheral welding.
