The commutator has a combination of several electrically conducting segments (102) strengthened by a ring (103). At least three electrically insulating first stabilizing elements (104) are arranged between each two commutator segments and the ring contacts the first stabilizing element and exerts a clamping force on it. An Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a commutator.
