PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by covering the outer periphery of an end face joint with a waterproof sheet after a newly installing tube has been immersed into an existing tube through a distance and draining the inside and then connecting them. SOLUTION: An immersed new tube 10 is pulled in by a pulling jack 26 for the tube and the connected end face 10A of the tube 10 is positioned opposite to the connection end face 20A of an existing tube 20. Then, the front end of a cylindrical waterproof sheet 40 is pulled to the existing tube 20 side and put on the tube 20 and fixed by a waterproof sheet fixing structure 22. Subsequently, the water in between bulkheads 18, 28 of the joint 30 is drained and the connection end face 10A is brought into contact with the front end of a distance-retaining member 21 by the static pressure, and the position and the direction are decided. A skin plate is fixedly welded to the inner peripheral side of backing materials 15, 25, and an inside face panel is attached between the inner peripheral faces of the main bodies of the tubes 10, 20, and concrete is placed in the space between the end faces 10A, 10B to rigidly connect the tubes 10, 20. In this way, since high accuracy is not required in the shape and the immersed position of the immersed tube, the manufacturing cost and the execuion cost can be reduced.
