PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic having an increased physiological effect, a rough skin-improving effect, etc., and useful as a milky lotion, a cream, a lotion, etc., by adding raffinose and a specific physiologically active ingredient. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains (A) raffinose obtained from the molasses of sugar beets, etc., and (B) a physiologically active ingredient (preferably an ascorbic acid compound such as ascorbic acid or ascorbic acid sulfate) excluding vitamin E or its derivatives. The components A and B are contained in amounts of preferably 0.1-15 wt.% and 0.05-90 wt.%, more preferably 0.3-5 wt.% and 0.1-50 wt.%, respectively, based on the total amount of the cosmetic. The cosmetic is useful as a calamine lotion, a sunscreen agent, a suntan agent, etc.
