PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize ejection by removing residual bubbles in a liquid channel effectively while providing means for controlling liquid flow in the liquid channel. SOLUTION: A heating element 2 for generating a bubble is arranged in a liquid channel 10 communicating with a liquid ejection opening 18. A movable member 31 is arranged opposite to the heating element in the liquid channel 10. A section 64 for controlling liquid flow from the ejection opening 18 toward a bubble generating region 11 is arranged on the surface of the liquid channel 10 facing the heating element 2 such that the movable member 31 touch the control section 64 when it is displaced due to growth of a bubble generated in the bubble generating region 11.
