PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved spinning reel comprising a reel body with a single-sidewall structure. SOLUTION: This spinning reel 1 is formed by retainably housing the main members of the reel 1 by using a unit comprising a front opening 5 or rear opening and a cover plate 13 attachable to and detachable from the opening. A fisherman is able to assemble or disassemble the spinning reel 1 without the aid of any instruments of e.g. driver or wrench.
