PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject powder having high degree of sintering, making it easy to form compact film and capable of forming film excellent in durability at a high temperature by heat-treating a solution including La, Ca, Cr and O to form powder, by subjecting the powder to press working to form green compact and by baking the green compact. SOLUTION: This calcium-doped lanthanum chromite powder having a composition of the formula, (La1-xCax)CrO3 [0<(x)<=0.4] is produced by heat-treating an aqueous solution including La, Ca, Cr and O at 500-1,400 deg.C to form powder, by subjecting the powder to press working at >=1 kgf/mm2 to form green compact and by baking the green compact (pref. at 1,000-1,400 deg.C). The above aqueous solution includes pref. nitrates chlorides sulfates or the like, esp. pref. nitrates of La, Ca and Cr. |
