PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monomer composition for an ink composition causing no after-crystallization in the resultant ink layer when used for printing. SOLUTION: This ink composition for a meltable ink applicable to a printer designed to jet ink drops through its ink duct, comprises a monomer compound disposed to amorphously solidify, wherein the compound presents a crystallinity of <=1% when the compound once molten is cooled at the rate of 5 deg.C/min. for a solid substance and then heated at the rate of 20 deg.C/min. over its melting point. Such a kind of compound may be used in a binder for the ink composition. When such an ink is transferred onto a to-be-printed material, the ink layer thereon shows a good stability in gum resistance, abrasion resistance, fold resistance and transparency. |
