PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely block the slit of a thread piecing main body piecing a spun yarn with the lid member of a slit closing device. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a thread piecing hole 29, a thread end inserting slit 30 extended to the hole axial core direction so as to be opened to the thread piecing hole 29, a thread piecing main body 22 integrally forming a nozzle 31 blowing compressed fluid in the inside of the thread piecing hole 29, and with a slit closing device 23 having a lid member 35 mounted onto a rocking lever 34 to open/close the inserting slit 30, and the slit closing device 23 is mounted to the thread piecing main body 22. The lid member 30 is supported onto the rocking lever 34 so as to be freely rocked, and the lid member 35 may be formed into a wedge shape that its thickness becomes thinner as it goes to the rocking end side from the rocking side.
