PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which makes it possible not only to better maintain the quality level of the product passing a line but to make the utilization of a reducing atmosphere more effective by planing to reduce the necessary cost in the operation of the galvanizing line. SOLUTION: The galvanizing line 1 of this method has a continuous pipeline 23 for circulating the reducing atmosphere contg. inert gas and hydrogen. A metallic strip 3 is galvanized in the continuous galvanizing line 1 where the metallic strip 3 is exposed to the reducing atmosphere in order to remove the oxide existing on the surface of the metallic strip 3 before the metallic strip 3 is immersed into a bath 13 of liquid zinc or liquid zinc alloy. In such a case, the inert gas and hydrogen are introduced into a pipeline 23 in order to replenish the pipeline 23 with the reducing atmosphere and the velocity of flow of the hydrogen is regulated according to the area of the metallic strip to be treated per unit time.
