This invention provides novel nuclear hormone receptors, RetinOR, that are found in retina tissue. Also provided are nucleic acids that encode the RetinOR receptors, and methods of assaying for response elements that are responsive to RetinOR receptors, for identifying ligands of RetinOR receptors, and for identifying compounds that can modulate the gene expression regulatory activity of RetinOR receptors. |
