The replacement mop head is formed from a sheet of absorbent material. The sheet is rolled up upon itself to form a calendered neck portion (4) which has a reduced thickness. The neck incorporates a socket for the mop pole and is fixed with adhesive. The body portion of the mop is formed by cutting the rolled sheet into strips (2).
