PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel telephone set by which a telephone number of a caller is read aloud, when a call tone rings or a caller telephone number stored is reproduced from remote control by an external line telephone set. SOLUTION: This telephone set has a caller identification code-(CID) reception section, that receives a signal from a telephone number and decides on a caller telephone number, based on the received signal, a voice IC 18 that reads aloud the caller telephone number, and a DTMF reception section 14 that received the DTMF signal and decodes a code represented by the DTMF signal, namely a password entered by the use through a telephone line. When it is discriminated that the entered code is equal to the password preset by the user, all caller telephone numbers stored in the memory 24 are reproduced on an external line through the voice IC 18, and then the caller telephone numbers are read aloud.
