PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment for monitoring an input line, judging whether or not a prescribed rotation standard is exceeded and shortening the storage time of image data. SOLUTION: In the case of storing an A4 horizontal original in an std mode, an original width is recognized beforehand. Then, the read of the original is started by 200×200 dpi (S10). During the read, whether or not the input of equal to or more than the number of rotation standard input lines is present is periodically monitored (S12). As the result of the monitoring, in the case of exceeding a standard line, inputted images are thinned line by line, transferred to a compressor (S14) and outputted to a different memory and it is ended (S15 and S17). On the other hand, in the case that read is ended without exceeding the standard line (S13; N and S11; Y), the image data are divided into the matrix of n×n and a rotation processing is performed in a rotator (A16). Then, thinning is performed so as to turn sub scanning after rotation to 100 dpi, they are transferred to the compressor and outputted to the different memory and it is ended (A17).
