PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable switch capable of surely detecting external force exerted from above or below, left or right, in every directions, by adapting surfaces of electrodes not to parallel outside-surface flat parts of an insulator. SOLUTION: Since surfaces of elastic conductive materials 2 are adapted not to parallel outside flat parts of an insulator 1, even if external force is exerted on this switch in any direction, the two elastic conductive bodies make electrical contact with each other and become conductive. This switch can detect, easily, surely and at a low cost, that an object is pinched. When external force exerted on the switch is released, a gap 3 returns to its initial state by the elasticity of the insulator 1 with satisfactory repeatability. Because the insulator 1 has flat parts on the outside thereof, it can be easily attached to an object to be detected by using an adhesive, or the like. Copper or a copper alloy is desirable for conductors 4, and strand wires each comprising a plurality of wires are suitable. The elastic conductive body 2 held and fixed by the insulator 1 are made up of a pressure-sensing conductive rubber or a conductive polyvinyl chloride mixture.
