PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a magnetic head capable of measuring the maximum generation magnetic field with respect to a driving frequency without imparting a high frequency and large current to the magnetic head to be measured. SOLUTION: A coil 7 for detection is disposed to face the core 3 of the magnetic head 1 and a drive voltage of DC is applied to the magnetic head 1. The current Imax with which the maximum generation magnetic field ma be obtained in the DC driving is determined by the inductance measurement of this coil 7 for detection. The maximum generation magnetic held of the magnetic head 1 may be obtained from the current Imax and the magnetic field generation efficiency, DC resistance and loss resistance by the high frequency of the magnetic head 1.
