PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable electric device which needs lower operating force of a handle for rotating a generator with the handle extended than ever and can store the handle in an area of a casing with the handle shortened, in the rechargeable electric device which charges electric power obtained by rotating the generator in the casing to be used as the power source. SOLUTION: A handle 5 for rotating a generator 2 is mounted on a casing 1 and provided with a first arm 51 pivoted-foldably to the casing 1 and the second arm 52 engaging-slidably with the fist arm 51. These arms can be set as an extended condition in which the first arm 51 is opened, and the second arm 52 is extended and a shortened condition in which the first arm 51 is folded and the second arm 52 is shortened.
