PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fixing member which prevents offset, which has good peel ability for paper, which does not cause jamming and which prevents deterioration of image quality due to wear by separation pawls, by incorporating at least a siloxane-modified polyimide resin into the surface layer to be in contact with a recording material. SOLUTION: The surface layer 5 is formed by applying and drying a coating liquid for formation of a surface layer on a base body. The coating liquid is prepared by mixing and diluting a siloxane-modified polyimide resin and a hardening agent (e.g. silane compd. such as aminosilane and isocyanate silane) in a solvent (e.g. cyclohexanone, tetrahydrofuran, diethylketone, butyl acetate and toluene). When fine particles are to be added to the coating liquid, the fine particles are preferably preliminarily added and dispersed in the solvent. Further, a back layer containing a siloxane modified polyimide resin is preferably formed on the back face exposed to the opposite side to the surface layer 5 so as to improve wear resistance against a contact member.
