PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a housing type monitor device which eliminates the need for a switch for housing detection, etc., and is capable of exactly and surely detecting the position of a housing mechanism by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This housing type monitor device has the housing mechanism 2 which draws a monitor section 1 out of a housing box 3 and erects the monitor section at the timer of using the monitor section 1 and houses the monitor section 1 into the housing box by pushing the monitor section 1 by bringing down the section toward the mechanism at the time of nonuse. In such a case, the moving and traveling route of the housing mechanism 2 is provided with a projection 4 of a plate spring form, etc., and this projection 4 is brought into contact with the surface of a touch panel 5 disposed on the front surface of the monitor section 1, by which the position of the housing mechanism 2 is detected.
