PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a two-dimensional image detector and a manufacturing method thereof that has favorable response and can also respond to moving images by forming semiconductor material such as CdTe, CdZnTe, etc., on an active matrix substrate at a low temperature not higher than 300 deg.C. SOLUTION: There are provided an active matrix substrate 1 having a pixel array layer and an counter substrate 2 having a first electrode part 17 and a semiconductor layer (photoconductive film) 16. The substrates are disposed so that the pixel array layer on the active matrix substrate 1 and the semiconductor layer (photoconductive film) 16 are opposed to each other while the substrates are connected to each other using conductive adhesive material 3. A second electrode part 21 for inputting signals to the first electrode part 17 contained in the counter substrate 2 is formed on the active matrix substrate 1. At the same time, the first electrode part 17 and the second electrode part 21 are electrically connected via electrode transfer means 22.
