PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide images having sufficient image density and causing little noise, even when reducing the amount of a developer. SOLUTION: In a developing device in which a developer is held on the surface of a developer carrier 11 by the magnetic force of a magnet member 12 provided inside the developer carrier 11 and is carried by the developer carrier to a developing area opposite to an image carrier 1 to perform development, magnetic parts 11a and non-magnetic parts 11b are distributed over the surface of the developer carrier. Therefore, the lines of magnetic force from the magnet member 12 provided inside the developer carrier are directed to each magnetic part on the surface of the developer carrier 11 and a magnetic brush of the developer is formed at each magnetic part, with the result that the magnetic brush of sufficient density can be formed to correspond to each magnetic part without the possibility that only some of the magnetic brushes grow large. |
