PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable operation of a power unit even in case that it is supplied with AC power from single-phase auxiliary winding by making power sources for circuits into a single power source, thereby simplifying the constitution of the power source part, and also by stepping down high-voltage DC power source so as to generate a power source for a circuit. SOLUTION: This power unit generates a high-voltage DC power +VDC, by rectifying the three-phase AC supplied from the three-phase output winding 12 of a generator 10 with a rectifying circuit provided with a rectifying stoppage function consisting of a plurality of thyristors D31-D33 and a plurality of diodes D34-D36. This generates a power +VCC for a circuit, by supplying the high- voltage DC power source +VDC to a three-terminal regulator IC21 via a stabilizing power circuit REG2. This power unit is provided with a rectifying circuit REC2, in parallel with the rectifying circuit provided with a rectification stoppage function, and generates a power +VG for a gate by rectifying three-phase AC, and supplies +VG for a gate to each thyristor via a transistor Q41 and each of gate resistors R31-R33 and controls a rectifying and smoothing part 30 into condition where the rectifying action is possible.
