PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery of high safety with respect to overcharging, collapsing, and throwing into fire than those of prior art. SOLUTION: This secondary battery has a corundum structure which is symmetric in relation to a ridge surface (R3c) in a positive electrode active material, and/or a negative electrode active material, a substrate, a separator, and/or a terminal, and has a metal oxide with the composition M2O3 (where M is one kind selected from among Ti, Al, V, Fe, Cr) having phase transformation followed by large decrease in the conductivity in the range of 100 deg.C to 220 deg.C. |
