A window frame 6, particularly, though not exclusively, a vehicle window frame having a peripheral flange 9 opposed to a major surface of the skin 1 or other wall surrounding the aperture with a resilient packing ring 5 therebetween is held in the aperture by clip s 10 spaced around the periphery of the frame, each clip having an outwardly projecting channel section 11 to engage the skin 1 at the edge thereof and an inwardly projecting flange 13 adapted to engage the front surface of an abutment, e.g. of a channel 15 on the frame so that as the frame is presented to the aperture with clips in position the flanges 13 deflect outwards as they move over the frame (moving from the left) to spring into engagement with the said front surface. In an alternative form shown in Fig. 4 the flange 12 has a stud 22 engaging in an aperture in the tubular edging 20 of the aperture and a projection 30 which snaps over the projection 31 as the frame is pushed from left to right. The projection 16 enables the flange 12 or 30 to be lifted above its retaining projection for removal of, the frame from the skin 1 or other wall.</p> |
