PURPOSE: An oral therapeutic and/or preventive drug is provided to administrate IFN-gamma to a patient who suffers from human T-cell lymphotrophic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) related diseases, and effectively act on ATL, rheumatic arthritis, SLE and immunity disorder. CONSTITUTION: The therapeutic and/or preventive drug for oral administration against HTLV-1 related diseases contains an interferon-gamma as an active component and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The interferon-gamma is obtained by the natural or recombinant DNA technique. The drug further comprises as a stabilizing agent for the interferon-gamma, at least one or two selected from the group consisting of saccharide, salt, amino acid, serum albumin, gelatin, non-ionic surfactant, glucuronic acid, dextrane and hydroxyethyl starch. The interferon-gamma content is about 0.1 to about 10¬6 units.
