PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a connected dial-in line without any change of setting even if it is further subscribed to a caller number notification service by executing an FSK signal detection mode or a DTMF signal detection mode based on a call signal pattern from a line wire to decode a dial-in number and connecting a designated terminal device. SOLUTION: When a call signal detecting part 4 detects an incoming call from a line wire L, a signal processing part 1 of a facsimile machine F discriminates whether the detected calling signal is a normal call signal (CI) or a terminal starting signal (CAR). When it is a CI, the signal processing part 1 closes the contacts (a) of an NC switch SW1 and changeover control switch SW2A and SW2B to carry out a DTMF signal detection mode, then detects a DTMF signal transmitted continuously from an exchange by a DTMF signal detecting part 2, decodes a dial-in signal from the DTMF signal and performs the following steps.
