This invention relates to ketones represented by the following formula <CHEM> and to drugs in which such a ketone or pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof is an effective component. The ketones of the present invention encourage the production of platelets, red blood cells, white blood cells and the like, and can be used to prevent or treat cytopaenia brought about by cancer chemotherapy, radiotherapy, bone marrow transplantation and drug therapy, or by immunological abnormality or anaemia, and the like.
