PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a runner for an automotive hanger rail capable of hooking an object easily on a J-shaped hook body without being hindered by an operation lever. SOLUTION: A runner movably and lockably supported on a hanger rail 51 fixed on an automotive side wall is provided with a slide body 1 movably disposed in the hanger rail 51, a lock body 11 supported in the slide body to be relatively displaced to get in contact with/apart from a bottom surface 56 of the hanger rail 51, an operation lever 21 rotatably shaft-supported on the slide body 1 to be rotated between a lock position and a non-lock position to control relative displacement to the slide body 1 of the lock body 11, and a J-shaped hook body 31 rotatably shaft-supported on the slide body 1 to hook an object. In this case, the J-shaped hook body 31 is rotatable only before the operation lever 21 at the lock position because of its rotation regulation means, therey the object can be easily hooked on the J-shaped hook body 31 without being hindered by the operation lever 21.
