PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general purpose universal mill in which horizontal rolls having a small diameter can be used at the time of changing its type into a 2-high mill, the position in the vertical direction and horizontal direction of a rolling line is adjustable, a guide device is surely mounted between housing posts in the state that the type is changed into the 2-high mill and materials to be rolled having many kinds and many shapes different in the size and the shape can be rolled. SOLUTION: In this universal rolling mill provided with a pair of housing posts 2, 3 which are arranged by holding the rolling lines L1, L2 and opposing to each other in the direction crossing orthogonally to the lines L1, L2, at least a pair of upper and lower horizontal rolls, a pair of right and left vertical rolls and vertical roll yokes 20, 21 for supporting the vertical rolls freely movably back and forth in the horizontal direction, by making the housing post 2 at least on one side movable to a fixed base 4 in the direction crossing orthogonally to the rolling lines L1, L2 and tightening between the housing posts 2, 3 through attachable and detachable spacers 13 with extending and contracting devices 15, the interval between the housing posts 2, 3 is made to be changeable and also screw jacks 29 and drawing mechanisms are respectively interposed between the top surface of the fixed base 4 and the bottom surface of the housing posts 2, 3.
