PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag of a side air bag device which can level off an energy absorption characteristic, even if a shock force is applied by shifting horizontally at the expansion time. SOLUTION: An air bag 20 is stored on the periphery edge of the opening of a car inside while being folded and provided with a bag shape expansion main body 22 expanding so as to cover the opening at the flow in time of gas for expansion. In the area of the expansion main body 22, non-expansion parts 29 for regulation combined the wall 20a of the car inside for regulating the shape of the expansion main body 22 at the expansion time with the wall 20b of the car outside are partially arranged. The non-expansion part 29 for regulation with a spot shape are arranged plurally in a horizontal direction and also arranged vertically in a row and plural steps. The non-expansion parts 29 for regulation with a vertically adjacent mutual row are arranged while position-shifting horizontally at every vertical steps.
