PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device for eliminating the particularly precise formation of the surface precision and flatness of the end surface, and of squareness to a rod regardless of the material of the valve element, accordingly easy to form the valve element, and advantageous to a cost. SOLUTION: In this device, a valve element 8 displaced in an axial direction to switch opening/closing a flow passage 22 is slidably inserted into a valve hole 16. In this case, the outer peripheral surface of the valve element 8 is provided with a notch-like, recess-like, or hole-like communication part for blocking the valve hole 16 when the valve element 8 is positioned in one end section in the axial direction displacement of the valve element 8, and also for opening the valve hole 16 when positioned in another end section in the axial direction displacement.
