PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain industrial microbicide composition showing powerful sterilization or bacteriostatic function which is insufficient by the conventional combination, and to provide a sterilization method. SOLUTION: This industrial microbicide is characterized by containing (A) a nitrobromine compound shown by the formula (R1 is an alkyl or allyl; and R2 is a >=2C alkyl or allyl), and (B) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (1) dibromocyanoacetamide, (2) methylenebisthiocyanate, (3) 4,5-dichloro-1,2-dithiol-3-on, (4) 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-on, (5) 4,5- dichloro-2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-on, and (6) bisbromoacetoxybutene.
