PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle which is high in operability in tongue plate insertion. SOLUTION: This tongue plate pushes an ejector 18 in a B1 direction, by which the engaging plate 4 of the ejector 18 is pressed to the projecting part 52 of the locking plate 20 and the locking plate 20 is turned in an A1 direction. As a result, the engaging part 50 of the locking plate 20 is inserted into the engaging hole part of the tongue plate and the latching state is attained. On the other hand, a release button 26 is pushed in an X1 direction in the latching state, by which a leg part 68 is made to press a locking pin 24 in the X1 direction and a locking spring 22 is compressed. The locking plate 20 is oscillated in an A2 direction by the elastic force generated as a result of the compression, by which the latching state is oscillated. Since the tongue plate is inserted into a diagonal direction (B direction) in the manner described above, the operability of the buckle 10 in the tongue plate insertion is improved.
