PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion improvement device and a combustion improvement method for an engine, which can improve combustion of an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine, particularly, can reduce an exhaust amount of a toxic excretion such as black smoke, nitrogen oxides, and the like. SOLUTION: Magnetic poles of two magnets 2 are disposed to be close and faced to each other. Through a clearance 3 between the magnetic poles, fuel supplied from a fuel tank to an engine is passed through. In that case, magnetic force (suction force or repulsive force) per unit area that acts between the magnetic poles faced to each other is 0.15 kgf/cm2 or more, and a time that the fuel passes between the magnetic poles faced to each other is 1.7 seconds or more.
