摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new yeast strain obtained by transforming the DNA that codes for a polypeptide having riboflavin biosynthetic activity in the expression in suitable cells with the DNA linked so as to transcribe to a promoter functioning in yeast strains. SOLUTION: This yeast strain is a new yeast strain, which is obtained by transforming the DNA sequence that codes for at least one kind of polypeptides exerting riboflavin biosynthetic activity when being expressed in the appropriate host cell with the recombinant DNA sequence containing the DNA sequence linked so as to transcribe to a promoter functioning in yeast strains, and is useful in the excessive production or the like of riboflavin (vitamin B2). This yeast strain is obtained by combining the DNA sequence that codes for the peptide having riboflavin biosynthetic activity arising from Candida guilliermondii excessively producing riboflavin under an iron deficient condition with TEF S. cerevisiae promoter and then transforming the yeast strain by electroporation or the like.
