PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of dyeing with phthalocyanines by which the dyeing with the phthalocyanines is carried out by a simple method by treating a fiber with a solution obtained by dissolving a phthalocyanine in a liquid containing an organic acid containing a halogen, or an inorganic acid. SOLUTION: Phthalocyanines, e.g. copper phthalocyanine, are dissolved in a mixed solvent comprising an organic acid containing a halogen atom, or an inorganic acid, concretely trifluoroacetic acid, and other solvents, e.g. methylene chloride. A cotton fabric or the like is subjected to a dipping treatment in the solution, and the treated fabric is subjected to a washing and drying treatment to provide a fabric dyed with the phthalocyanines.
