PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyzer capable of discharging, air in an electrolyte supply line automatically without using a sensor only to detect the accumulation of air in the line. SOLUTION: The air in a brine supply pipeline 19 and in a hollow-fiber filter 31 is discharged by a controller 49, when a voltage signal at a specified level is outputted from a filter attaching and detaching coupler switch 33 (switch) or when a voltage signal at a specified level is outputted from an attaching and detaching coupler switch 23 (switch). The air is discharged by the forced feed of braine from a brine tank 17 into the supply pipeline 19 by the starting of a brine feed pump 25 and by the supply of raw water to a mixing part 27 under the control of a raw water solenoid valve 13 and a water supply control valve. Since a stop valve 37c is controlled by the controller 49 to close a first passage 37a, the liq. mixture of the brine and raw water flowing into an electrolytic cell 35 through the mixing part 27 is discharged to a discharge port 41 from a second passage 37b through a discharge pipe 39.
