PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the inadvertent consumption of a battery by setting control of executing second operation different from present operation when key input is not given in a period longer than a prescribed one after the execution of prescribed operation by rotating operation and defining operation to be control of disconnecting the power source of a main body to prolong the life of an electronic appliance. SOLUTION: A rotary knob 8 in a shape covering a speaker 4 is supported by plural supporting rollers erected at an equipment main body in the state of being freely rotatable to abut a rotation detecting roller successively providing a rotary encoder detecting rotation on the inner wall side of the knob 8. Some of functions reaching 1 to 14 kinds are assigned to the rotary knob to select a rotating operation and a defining operation. After the a lapse of a prescribed time without the selection of operations different from this operation, second operation is set to be the disconnection of the power source of the main body. Thereby the driving time of the appliance is not extended inadvertently and the consumption of the battery is saved. |
