FIELD: portable rescue equipment used for emergency evacuation of people and loads from high-rise objects, mountain slopes, for escape of landing troops from helicopters etc. SUBSTANCE: escape apparatus has casing with brake control device and cable extending through it. Casing is formed as continuous part with through channel extending along broken line of U-shaped portions. Brake control unit has through channel extending in casing with cable. Cable tightening extent is regulated by rescuer or by winch, or cable may be in untightened state. Axes of U-shaped broken lines are extending along casing and at an angle of 60-80 deg to it. Channel portions have length ratio ranging from 1:1 to 1:1.3. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, increased safety during operation and convenient usage. 2 cl, 1 dwg
