PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable lead-acid battery capable of suppressing the escaping of water, long in the service life of a trickle, excellent in welding strength of a cover of a battery jar with an upper cover to cover its safety valve fitting part. SOLUTION: An enclosed lead-acid battery is provided with a battery jar 1 to store electrode plates, a battery jar cover 2 bonded to an opening part of the battery jar 1 with a resin adhesive 3 and seals the opening part of the battery jar 1, and an upper cover 8 ultrasonic-welded to the battery jar cover 2 so as to cover a safety valve fitting part of the battery jar cover 2. The battery jar cover 2 consists of a modified polyphenylene ether resin to which a non-moisture-permeable flake-like inorganic substance is added, and the battery jar cover 2 and the upper cover 8 consist of an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin containing no non-moisture-permeable flake-like inorganic substance. |
