PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording-medium reproducing apparatus by which a piece of music can be confirmed quickly. SOLUTION: Out of TOC information which is read out by a disk reproducing part 2 onto which a CD1 is loaded, CD discrimination data which is composed of a set of the number of pieces of music and the start absolute time of a second piece of music is new. Then, a controller 4 registers the data into a CD control information storage region in a memory 4A. While every piece of music in the CD1 is being reproduced, a starting position and a finish position in a special section as an impressive part in the piece of music are instructed so as to be operated. Then, by using the controller 4, position information which is input from the disk reproducing part 2 in every point of time is registered, as starting-position information and finish-position information on the special section, in the memory 4A so as to correspond to the discrimination data on a present CD1, After that, in a state that the same CD1 is loaded, the reproduction of a limited special section is instructed sequentially, Then, the controller 4 controls the disk reproducing part 2 according to the registered information on the special section so as to correspond to discrimination data on a CD1 which is loaded at present. The head position is searched sequentially according to every special section on the CD1, and the CD1 is reproduced up to the final position.
