PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a discharge lamp lighting device capable of varying fre quency without complicating circuit constitution. SOLUTION: By alternately turning on and off an electric field effect transistor by a control unit 15, high frequency alternating current is supplied to a fluorescent lamp to light with high frequency. An IC 17 for timer outputs with the lowest frequency in the state that a timing capacitor C12 is connected in parallel to a timing capacitor C11. The IC 17 for timer outputs with the highest frequency in the state the timing capacitor C12 is not electrically connected to the timing capacitor C11. In the case that the voltage of a rectification circuit 18 is low, the frequency becomes low and then rises high to a specific value as the voltage rises. |
