PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a color characteristic description file of a printer and to realize color matching without using a colorimeter in a scanner printer. SOLUTION: This scanner printer is provided with a printer part 1 which is a color image printing means, a scanner part 4 which is a color image read means and a calculation means 7 for finding color characteristics from color data and reference data. In this case, for the color characteristics of the scanner part 4 obtained by the calculation means 7 and the reference data printed by the printer part 1, by finding the color characteristics of the printer part 1 by using the color data read by the scanner part 4, the color matching of the printer part 1 is realized.
