PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip-type solid electrolytic capacitor with good volume efficiency, while its external dimensions are smaller. SOLUTION: An anode terminal plate 23 and a cathode terminal plate 21 are fitted to a capacitor element 12, and after a resin jacket 31 is formed around the capacitor element 12 together with the anode terminal plate 23 and the cathode terminal plate 21, a part of the resin is removed so that each of parts 231 and 211 of the anode terminal plate 23 and the cathode terminal plate 21 are removed. Then both end surfaces 31L and 31R of the resin jacket 31 are subjected to solder-plating to form electrode lead-out leads 23A and 21A of a solder plate which is electrically connected to the parts 231 and 211 of the anode terminal plate 23 and to the cathode terminal plate 21.
