PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black matrix forming material which allows curing reaction to proceed sufficiently up to the interface between the material and a substrate and has a wide development latitude even if the concn. of a black pigment is high by incorporating an alkali-soluble resin, an acid crosslinkable methylolated melamine compd., a photo-acid generating agent, a specified dispersant and the black pigment. SOLUTION: The black matrix forming material contains an alkali-soluble resin obtd. by condensing phenols including at least cresol and aldehydes, an acid crosslinkable methylolated melamine compd., a compd. which absorbs light and generates an acid a dispersant of the formula and a black pigment. In the formula, R1 is a 1-24C linear or branched alkyl which may have a substituent, R2 and R3 are each H or methyl, R4 is H, a 1-24C linear or branched alkyl, or the like, (m) is 0, 1 or 2, (n) is 1, 2 or 3, m+n=3, (a) and (b) are each 0-200 and a+b=2-200. |
