摘要 An electrical stimulation system includes an implantable control module for implantation in a body of a patient and having an antenna, a secondary power source, and a processor coupled to the antenna and the secondary power source. The control module provides electrical stimulation current to an electrical stimulation lead for stimulation of patient tissue. The system also includes a primary power source to be worn or carried by the patient external to the body of the patient and to deliver power to the control module through the antenna. The control module preferentially utilizes power directly from the primary power source for the electrical stimulation current when the primary power source is available. The system can also include an electrical stimulation lead, a lead extension, or an external programming unit.
