PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact camera with a multi-function and high portability by constituting a main body part so that an interface to connect the main body part with other device or a communication line is attached to the main body part instead of an image pickup part. SOLUTION: The main body part 2 is not only constituted so that image pickup parts are replaced from an image pickup part 3 with a standard zoom lens to an image pickup part 3w with a wide angle lens but constituted so that an interface 40 for personal computer, a modem 50, an external display interface 60 are directly connected with the main body part 2 by detaching the image pickup part. For this reason, all mechanism for connecting and separating the image pickup part and each of the interfaces 40, 60 with the main body part are regarded as the same and connecting terminals are also regarded to have compatibility. In addition, the personal computer 45 is connected with the main body part 2 by the interface 40 for personal computer, a telephone line is connected with the main body part 2 by the modem 50 and an external display 65 is connected with the main body part 2 by the external display interface 60.
