PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately capture the fluctuation of a photoreceptor and electrification and to adjust a laser light quantity. SOLUTION: This image formation device is provided with a reference pattern generation means for generating reference waves (1)-(3), based on a reference clock, a modulation means composed of comparators 21A-21C for pulse width modulating prescribed signals by the reference waves (1)-(3) generated in the reference pattern generation means, a light emitting means 31 for irradiating the photoreceptor with a pulse laser beam based on the pulse width modulation modulated by the modulation means and a control part 41 for switching a pulse width modulation condition for setting the reference light quantity of the pulse laser beam by the light emitting means 31 and a pulse width modulation condition for setting the density condition of a color used in image formation as the pulse width modulation condition by the pulse width modulation and controlling an image formation condition.
