In the manufacture of pile fabrics by pleating a sheet of yarns into corrugationis 13 and applying a bucking of polyvinyl chloride, a sheet of 'paper (indicated in broken line) is fed on the underside of the sheet of yarns and pleated with it to support the corrugations. The backing is applied to the top surface and the paper is withdrawn, thereby producing a loop pile fabric. A second backing may be applied to the other side of the corrugations and the fabric then cut along the centre to produce two cut pile fabrics.</p> |
