PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable surface acoustic wave motor to be manufactured easily and a magnetic disk drive adopting it. SOLUTION: This surface acoustic wave motor comprises an surface acoustic wave element 1, having a drive electrode 5, a motion member 2 relative to the elastic surface wave element 1, and a source of elastic force for pressing the relative motion member 2 against the surface acoustic wave element 1, where one or more output take-out member 6 generating a relative motion between the elastic surface wave element 1 and the relative motion member 2 through elliptical motion, produced by an elastic surface wave generated from the surface acoustic wave element 1 is disposed between the surface acoustic wave element 1 and the relative motion member 2, while being coupled with the relative motion member 2. |
